“We must begin every day of our lives with a new eagerness” – St. Charles Borromeo
Over the last few weeks, I feel like I’ve been going through the motions this uni semester. The weather has gone cold and wintry. The days are getting shorter and the work seems to keep piling up.
During these times I know I can easily slip into negativity and complain about even the smallest little things.
I was sent this quote the other day and it really made me think about how I go about my days. A lot of the time it depends on how I start the day. If I wake up feeling negative and tired, then that can dictate the rest of my day. I “choose” to see the negative in everything.
But if I can flip this perspective to gratitude, then I believe I will soon begin each day with a new eagerness because I will be aware of all I am blessed with. I should be grateful that I even have a bed to wake up each morning and am able to get out of bed.
This gratitude for life is something I am trying to do more of at the moment. Can you start to find a “new eagerness” in one area of your life this week?
