Reading about the life of the wonderful St. Therese of Lisieux, I came across her reflections on each person’s gifts in her writing. She saw the world as a garden.
“I understood that every flower created (by God) is beautiful, that the brilliance of the rose and the whiteness of the lily do not lessen the perfume of the violet or the sweet simplicity of the daisy”
It can appear that others have been gifted with talents that we can only dream of having. But too much time thinking about what we don’t have leads us to jealousy. We forget the gifts we possess. Some more visible. Others we perhaps have not even discovered yet. We all have something about us that no-one else can take away. I like to say that we all have a divine and unique fingerprint within. We must not devalue the specialness we all possess.
I hope you too can take something from the writings of this impressive woman.
How can you use your gifts to do good to those around you?
