“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do“. Eleanor Roosevelt
This past week, I’ve been on a mini-adventure to Germany. The last few days of uni were a mad rush of packing and coming home; trying to see family and friends at the weekend and then I found myself on a plane to Germany, wondering how I’d got there!
It was only then when the nerves started to hit me. I remember having a right worry at the airport train station about which S-Bahn or U-Bahn to get and thinking that the Polizei were surely going to come down the train at any moment and fine me for forgetting to validate my ticket.
Then, when I was finally on the right train and had sat down, I let out a sigh. Well, I was here now and this is a new challenge, I thought. I was certainly out of my comfort zone.
I know we can’t all travel to Germany everyday to step outside of our comfort zones. But is there something you fear doing that you can do today?
