Speaking With Kindness

I know I can be harsh with my words at times, especially when someone has done something that’s offended me.

It’s easy to reach out in anger and frustration at others when things don’t go our way. We can blame, be spiteful and say hurtful things when we feel we’ve been wronged.

But we never know what is going on in people’s lives. We don’t see the Burdens they’re carrying. Something may have happened to that person that we know nothing about and we don’t want to be the person who is hurtful to them in their time of suffering. This is particurly the case when communicating with technology because we can’t be sure of the emotion behind our words.

When I reach out to people – whether that’s through social media, a call, email or in conversation – I’m trying to speak with kindness.
