We go through patches in our lives when we feel like we’re in a desert.
There is a dryness, absence and loneliness. It may be spiritual, mental, physical, social or relational. We can be lost for a while and wonder where we’re going and how we got to this place.
This Exodus Time is important. It is confusing, can be painful and may last a long time. But in this time of darkness, we will be transformed by it. We will return anew from the desert in whatever shape or form. We will have experienced growth and change. It is only by going to the desert that we know what it is like to be “back home” – with ourselves and those around us.
When was the last time you experienced some Exodus Time? Are you still in the Desert?
