You’re the only one who knows the storyline in your head. You know the plot, the characters, the problem. You’re writing your own narrative.
But no-one knows your story.
Each one of us has our own narrative and it shapes the way we live. In our own worlds, we’re always “right”. I’ve spoke about this before. It takes empathy to listen to someone else’s story and acknowledge that they might be “right” too.
Not everyone believes what I believe. Not everyone knows what I know. Not everyone wants what I want. This is difficult to hear, but it’s why we need empathy. When we seek “the others”, we can share our stories and figure out who’s on the same journey as us.
Whose story will you listen to today or will you share your own with someone?
