We live in a world of notifications
If we don’t respond to messages and emails right away, then very soon we can have a mountain of them to trawl through. We feel pressure to reply to people; we don’t want to keep them waiting. But most of the time, we can’t always respond in the moment or even on the same day.
This can be frustrating. It’s something I really struggle with and can end up worrying about: Why did they leave me on “read” and not reply? Are they ignoring me? Have I done something wrong/to offend or hurt them?
We ask ourselves questions like this and get caught up in our own worlds. This is okay and human, but we can forget to think of the other person and their story.
Do you feel this pressure to respond or demand answers? How can you be more patient in your communication?
