A friend shared this story about sacrifice with me the other week and it gave me hope.
Here is a summary:
Father Giuseppe Berardelli was an Italian priest who gave his respirator to a younger coronavirus patient he did not know. He passed away aged 72 in hospital in Lovere, Bergamo – one of the worst-hit cities in Italy.
In times like these, we need stories of hope because following the news right now can fill us with negativity, fear and hopelessness.
Instead, we can choose to act in love for our neighbour. We may not be called to give our lives, but we can all do something to spread hope to those around us.
How will you sacrifice yourself for others this coming week?
