Sometimes in conversation with old friends, I reminisce about memories I’d rather not remember. Maybe I repress them most of the time and it takes a certain conversation to drag them up out of the past. This is hard and we should not live in constant regret.

It is important to go the shadow parts of ourselves and address what is going on sometimes.

For me, there a certain times in my life when I wish I could just wave a magic wand and pretend it never happened. Unfortunately, we can’t do that and we live with the pain of these memories.

However, instead of staying in a place of regret, we can choose to acknowledge the pain and act out of it.

  • Is there a friendship I need to heal?
  • Is there something I need to say to someone I never did?
  • Do I need to say: “I’m sorry. I was wrong. Will you please forgive me?”

A time of contemplation must lead us to action.

Is there some healing work you need to act on this week?
