Times like this strip away the certainties we hold on to and the things we construct in our lives to make us feel safe.

Suddenly, those things in life that we try and hold on to – our image, status, social media presence, money – are revealed for what they really are: temporary and passing.

We are reminded of the things and people that truly matter and this makes us afraid. We are afraid of losing that which we hold on to and we fear we might have neglected what actually matters.
