A friend told me this story.
They were out for a run, when they suddently stopped still. Something was bothering them and they felt that, although running helps them clear their head, they were running away from the problem and hoping it would go away.
They sat down in a field for a while and thought it out. It was only after they had come to some resolution that they felt they could start running again.
I thought this was profound and has something to teach us.
We may feel like we’re coping with an issue and it may figure itself out in our minds. But if we don’t take time to stop and think about what the root cause may be, we may keep on running away from it for a long time.
Is there something you’re running away from?
When was the last time you stopped to think something through?
