“How Things Used To Be”

There may be times in our lives when we long for things to return to how they used to be: a previous job, relationship, friendship, a place we were or a year of our life. 

We might be feeling a little like that right now during this pandemic. Yet a romantic view of the past can lead us to forget the suffering we were going through “back then” – the everyday struggles and the forgotton times when we wished we were somewhere else or with someone else.

We can be bitter or nostalgic about the past. 

Or we can change our future. We can invest in ourselves, our lives, our communities (friendships, relationships, families, work).

It’s up to us to decide how we will move forward. 

Will we let the past hold us back or will we allow it to transform our future?
