It’s affirming when people come to us and seek our advice. Other times, when we see those we care about struggling, we may choose to give them advice.
However, what’s hard is taking our own advice.
We may speak kindly and with love to others, but can we do it to ourselves?
If we spoke to others the way we sometimes speak to ourselves, we would be called cruel and unkind.
I like to help and give advice, but if I don’t even take my own advice, then there is no consistency to my words.
We need to practise what we preach.
That starts with being kinder with ourselves so that we can be truly, authentically kind to those we seek to love and help.
