Perceptive

A few weeks ago, an Irish Franciscan friar wrote a poem that went viral.

It spoke about the birds being heard singing again in Wuhan city.

Depending on where you are in the world, the lockdown restrictions may differ. But even if you’re still not allowed out into the streets, we can still connect with nature. Open a window and listen.

What do you see, hear, sense or feel?

There is some good news about levels of pollution decreasing and rivers being cleaner. Time will tell whether we return to harming our planet, once the “new normal” is established.

At the start of lockdown, I was certainly grateful for being allowed to go out for a daily walk in the UK. I know friends who weren’t able to walk their city streets for weeks without fear of being stopped by police.

As we take time to slow down, reflect and listen, have you found time to connect with nature?

What have you noticed, that you don’t normally, about what’s around you?
