Speaking With Integrity

I’ve written before about hypocrisy and practising what we preach. I worry about this everyday and try to speak with integrity more often.

We worry about saying what we mean. We don’t want to offend, seem harsh or too direct. But we can mince our words. Just watching politicians’ interviews during this pandemic, we’ve seen many of them talk for a long time without saying very much.

What would it look like to say exactly what we mean?

Speaking with integrity is a high ideal. Something to aspire to, but not something esoteric. It takes practise.

When the truth hurts, we need to speak with love. If our words come from a place of love, the truth will liberate us.

We will be appreciated for speaking the truth, rather than hiding behind our words.
