It’s important to be able to distinguish between delegation and demands in our work.
Delegating is a useful, collaborative tool that builds interdependence if done in the right way.
We shouldn’t expect people to just do the work for us. We need to explain what we want and how we want it done. If prior information isn’t given about expectations, we can’t be disappointed if the standard is not up to what we require.
We want to bring people up and push them to do Great Work. But if we lack empathy in our delegation, we will be left with bad work and bad relationships.
