It was sad that I’d never listened to Aretha Franklin’s wonderful music before she passed away just over two years ago. But it was then that I encountered her powerful soul.
One song I have enjoyed ever since is her version of “I Say A Little Prayer“.
We often meet people who don’t smile back at us or if they’re having a bad day, take it out on us.
We can react with anger and spread negativity.
Or we can say a little prayer for them.
We can hope that whatever burden these people are carrying, it will lighten. We can pray that they’ll realise that even in the midst of great suffering, there are things to be grateful for.
When was the last time you met someone who was having a bad day? How did you react?
