Check-In

Over the past few weeks, I’ve realised that I need a routine to give my days some structure.

But when in routine, I know I can fall into the trap of a subconscious, almost automatic, way of living.

Sometimes I’m distant and forget to ask myself and those around me: “How are you?”

In a time of such emotional demand and change, it can be easy to bury our emotions. We can try to hide them under the guise of “being busy”.

But if we don’t acknowledge our emotions, sooner or later, our bodies or brain will tell us that something’s not right.

It only takes a minute to pause, breath and check-in to see how we and others are feeling. Then, we can adjust our responses and behaviours accordingly.
