Complacent

We can get complacent in our work. We can get lazy in our actions, habits and behaviour.

A friend told me about their place of work. The veteran members of staff, because they been there for a while, have stopped doing the basics and stopped making an effort with the people they serve. The new and younger staff are expected to work harder to compensate for this and given all the “horrible” jobs to do.

The staff who have worked there longer have become complacent and it’s seeping into their work and the workplace atmosphere.

Complacency kills are energy and creativity. It’s a danger we must all be aware of when we have spent a long time doing something and have become “good” at it.

Is there an area of your life where you’ve become complacent?
