I was recently trying to sort out the end of year bills with my house mates for our tenancy last year.
We were using an app that helps with bill splitting. However, when I started using the app, I didn’t understand properly how it worked. So, my explanations of it to my house mates hadn’t been very good earlier on in the year.
The system worked. But by not understanding the system, it caused confusion and problems.
In the end, it took a pen, paper and some good, old-fashioned multiplication and long division to work out the root of the problem.
If I had taken the time understand the app and explain it properly beforehand, I could’ve saved myself and my house mates a fair bit of time and hassle.
When was a time you explained something poorly and witnessed the consequences of that?
