Being Good At Things

Why do we do what we do? What’s the point?

Is it to be good? Is it to pay the bills? Is it because we’re scared of doing anything else?

I think we should do things because they bring us joy.

Those reasons for joy may be different: we’re passionate, we’re helping others, maybe we are good at what we do.

But seeking ‘success’ at things and striving only to be ‘good’ shouldn’t be our only motivation (our only ‘Why’).

Because they’ll always be someone better than us. There will come a time when we’re not that ‘good’ anymore. And if we only focus on ‘success’ at things, it will eventually suck the joy out of doing them.

What do you enjoy doing? How do you define success?
