I’ve found it difficult to ‘switch-off’ over the last year or so of compulsory lockdowns. I’m spending almost all day on my phone or laptop and I don’t think it’s the healthiest way to live.
Our responses to notifications have become Pavlovian. (Even as I wrote this blog post, I heard a ping and went to check my phone!)
One good feature on my OnePlus phone is the Zen Mode feature. I can switch it on for a set time and it stops me from using my phone apart from emergency calls. This has been a really good way for me to create time and space away from my devices; time that can be spent reading, going out for walks or runs, time drawing or writing.
