We’re told that we must “start as we mean to go on”.
I can’t stress enough the importance of a good start for myself – a good start to the day and a good start to the week.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been having counselling on a Monday lunchtime. It’s been hard and draining. It’s knocked me for six some weeks and sometimes, I haven’t been able to get back at my work until Wednesday. I’ve been losing lots of time.
I’ve managed to change it to a Tuesday and found it a lot better to have a good start to the week on Monday. That’s not to say the counselling isn’t still hard and draining. But it’s been crucial for me to start the week well.
Then I can lower my expectations for Tuesday and acknowledge it’s going to look a little different.
Then, on Wednesday I can go again.
We need to start well to create any momentum in our work, days and weeks.
