I’ve recently gotten into some form of daily routine that I’m finding very helpful.

It’s something I’ve experimented with and worked on for a while. Over the years, it’s changed from getting up early to getting up late, to going to bed early or going to bed late, to working late in the evenings or not working at all in the evenings.

My infamous “November experiment”, when I wanted to get up at 6 am, didn’t happen until the following July and only lasted a fortnight! I was soon exhausted and napping by midmorning.

Over time, we change and our bodies change. The paradox of routine is that it has to change as we do. If it becomes too rigid and doesn’t adapt, it will eventually no longer serve us.

Do you have a morning routine?

When do you work best?

Do you find it helpful? If so, why?
